NASSAU, Bahamas – Former Commodore of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force His Excellency Davy Rolle received his Letter of Credence as Ambassador to Haiti and non-resident Ambassador to the Dominican Republic from Governor General His Excellency Arthur Hanna on Friday, January 16.

 

“Excellency, I have represented my country on many occasions, far and wide, in the law enforcement and maritime arenas,” Ambassador Rolle said. “This appointment gives me the opportunity to exercise some of the skills acquired.”

 

Ambassador Rolle said his objective will be to strengthen the bonds of friendship and co-operation, on the basis of mutual respect.

 

“Please be assured that we, the Embassy staff, are committed to a successful overseas mission and it is our sincere hope that this assignment will herald a new impetus to bilateral relations,” Ambassador Rolle said.

 

He also thanked the Governor General, on behalf of his family, for presenting him with his Letter of Credence and thanked Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham for his trust and “the opportunity to, once again, serve my beloved Bahamas”.

 

“Thank you to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ staff for their briefs and advice to-date,” Ambassador Rolle said.  “Thank you Permanent Secretary Dr. Patricia Rogers, Director General Mr. Joshua Sears and a special thank you to the Vice-Consul in Haiti and his staff for their invaluable assistance during my orientation.”
