The Department of Marine Resources wishes to remind the general public against the illegal harvesting, and offering for sale of juvenile crawfish in The Bahamas.

The Department of Marine Resources also wishes to remind the public that the minimum harvestable size limit of 3 ¼ inches carapace length or 5 ½ inches tail length for crawfish.

The Department of Marine Resources further advises the general public that the crawfish industry continues to play an important role in the economy of The Bahamas providing employment for Bahamians and adding much needed revenue towards the betterment of The Bahamas.

Persons are advised to report all violations of the fisheries laws to your nearest office of the Department of Marine Resources or to any office of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

The Department of Marine Resources advises fishers engaging in the harvesting of juvenile crawfish to cease and desist the practice or face being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
