The Ministry of Labour and Social Development announced today that approval has been granted for an increase in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (propane).
The new prices will take effect on the 1st of October, 2008, and will be the first increase approved by the Government since 2005.
The increase is due to the rising cost of LPG on the international market.
A one hundred pound cylinder of propane will now cost a maximum of $100 in New Providence and a maximum of $110 in the Family Islands. Commercial bulk rates have correspondingly been increased
